Bird App Support
Bird App is operated by Boundary Object LLC in the United States.
Joining the beta
Install the build provided through TestFlight, then use Sign in with Apple. New accounts need a Bird App invite code before profile setup. TestFlight access and a Bird App invite are separate. Existing admitted accounts can sign in without redeeming another code.
If an invite is unavailable, check the code or ask the person who invited you for another. Never share your Apple password or verification codes.
Saved birds and synchronization
Bird App saves records on your device and queues online changes while disconnected. If a post has not appeared on another device, reconnect and check the sync status in the app. Keep the app installed while unsent records remain; uninstalling can remove local data.
If the app asks you to reconnect, use the same Apple account you used previously. Signing in with a different account does not transfer the first account's records.
Listening and permissions
Microphone permission is needed for call recognition. You can still add a bird manually without microphone, location or notification permission. Change permissions in device Settings. Location is optional, and you can type a place name yourself.
An active listening session can continue in the background. Stop listening when finished. Suggested identifications can be wrong; review the birds before saving.
Privacy and unwanted content
Private profiles limit shared posts to friends. Public profiles share posts with other signed-in members. Display names, usernames and profile photos remain discovery information. Avoid including sensitive details in a post's notes or place name.
Use the report action on an accessible post and block controls when needed. Offline reports are queued and must synchronize before they reach the service. Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or unrelated personal information in a report.
Signing out or uninstalling does not delete your server account or iCloud backup. You can request account deletion in the app. Before confirming, choose whether to keep your saved local history and private iCloud backup. Server deletion and iCloud cleanup are separate steps; if iCloud is unavailable, the app preserves your cleanup choice and offers a retry. Signing out or uninstalling alone does not complete those steps.
Sending useful beta feedback
TestFlight's feedback flow can send a screenshot and a description of what happened. Include the app build, device/iOS version, the steps that led to the issue, what you expected and whether you were offline. Remove private information from screenshots. If the issue involves unsent records, avoid reinstalling before those records are safely preserved.
